As we all are aware that ROHS directive took effect on 1st July 2006. This directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.
Since SNS Cooling Technology Inc. has started its operation in 2009 so it is very easy for us meet the expectation of ROHS directive set forth by WEEE as we choose only the products & service which meet ROHS requirement set forth by WEEE. Following elements are identified by WEEE as restricted material.
- Lead
- Mercury
- Cadmium
- Haxavalent Chromium (VI or Cr6+)
- Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB*)
- Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether (PBDE*)
* PBB and PBDE are flame retardants used in some plastics.
SNS Cooling Technology Inc. strategy is to meet the goal set by EC Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) for ROHS materials.

ROHS Exemptions
- Lead as an alloying element in steel containing up to 0.35% lead by weight, aluminum containing up to 0.4% lead by weight and as a copper alloy containing up to 4% lead by weight.
- lead in high melting temperature type solders (i.e. lead based alloys containing 85% by weight or more lead)-lead in solders for servers, storage and storage array systems, network infrastructure equipment for switching, signaling, transmission as well as network management for telecommunications- lead in electronic ceramic parts (e.g. piezoelectronic devices).
- Haxavalent chromium as an anti-corrosion of the carbon steel cooling system in absorption refrigerators.
